CHRISTIAN LASSEN TO APPEAR AT LASSEN GALLERY IN FORUM SHOPS AT CAESARS PALACE

JULY 5 @ 8:00pm
Artist to Debut Third In Wildly Popular Series of Hana's Gate Paintings
Las Vegas, NV--On July 5th at 8:00 p.m., Christian Riese Lassen will debut the third painting in his Hana's Gate series at an exhibition at the Lassen Gallery in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Lassen is coming to the exhibition directly from Tahiti where he dedicated the entire month of June to the as yet untitled and unfinished painting.
"Christian has rarely, if ever, exhibited an unfinished painting but he felt compelled by the collector's interest in this work", said Lassen International CEO Jona Marie Price. "Due to such strong demand from Christian's collectors, we have actually sold the original masterpiece and numerous limited edition prints sight unseen, which has compelled Lassen to unveil the original before it's completion at the Las Vegas show".
The Hana's Gate paintings have met with unprecedented interest from collectors. These altogether unique Series already include, "Beyond Hana's Gate" and "Eternal Embrace". The paintings will gradually reveal a passionate and unfolding love story. Lassen has not determined how many images will eventually comprise the series and has said that the number of images will be dictated by how long the story takes to unfold. Each, "chapter" will be comprised of three paintings so the July 5th exhibition marks the historic completion of the story's very first chapter.
In the series, a dashing foreigner comes to the islands and meets a beautiful native Hawaiian girl at the beach in Hana, Maui. They fall instantly into a passionate affair and pledge an undying love for one another. The lovers part when the foreigner returns to sea with a vow to see his love again. As days grow into weeks and then months the girl maintains a tender vigil on a cliff overlooking the ocean called, Hana's Gate.
As tribute to the Gods of the sea for her lover's safe return, the girl brings gifts which she places on the waves and in the sand. The sea offers its own gifts to the girl, among them a pearl necklace and an exquisite sea shell. There are any number of subtle, hidden clues which Lassen sees as gifts of his own to the viewers; foot prints in the sand lead to a barely visible female form; a dolphin is present as are the girl and the gate at Hana. Even more clues are to be found in the sand, clouds and rocks; messages, initials and hearts that will reveal more in each painting until the story is fully told.
